Transmitter
A transmitter is an electronic device which, usually with the aid of an antenna, propagates an electromagnetic signal such as radio, television, or other telecommunications. In optical communications the transmitter is an optical or electro optical device, containing light source, capable of propagating optical signals in the transmission medium (most commonly optical fiber).
